NOGALL

NOGALL is applied before planting to protect against crown gall in fruit trees. It is a culture of bacteria in the form of wetable powder, wrapped in peas.

What is Crown Gall Disease?

Crown gall(root gall) is a serious plant disease caused by the bacterium Agrobacterium tumefaciens. It particularly causes irregular gall (tumor) formations on the roots and root crown of fruit trees.

How Does NOGALL Eradicate It?

NOGALL is a preventive biological solution developed against crown gall (root gall) disease in fruit and ornamental plants. The special A. radiobacter K1026 bacterium in its composition is the natural antagonist of A. tumefaciens, the disease-causing agent. Thus, it prevents the harmful bacterium from entering the plant and forming galls from the outset through different modes of action before entering the plant.

Is there any other product in the world besides NOGALL as a solution for crown gall?

NOGALL is the first biological solution product licensed in the USA and Australia, and licensed in Türkiye. The old K84 strain of the same bacterium discovered in the 1970s is used. However, it is now ineffective against A. tumefaciens, which has developed resistance over time. It is produced illegally in some countries without plant protection authorization. The K1026 strain is successfully used without resistance problems.

What Should the Storage Conditions Be Before Using NOGALL?

What is the Dosage Sensitivity During Use? NOGALL maintains its viability from the production date for a maximum of 6 months at room temperature, and for 1 year in a refrigerator (4–5°C). Be sure to check the production date before use. Attention should be paid to recommended doses. Insufficient use gives ineffective results.

What Should Be Considered in NOGALL Application?

The water to be used should not contain chemical residues (including chlorine). Preferably drinking water quality, cold water should be used. The container in which the mixture is prepared must be clean and should not have been used for other mixtures before. Application should be made after the seedling roots are pruned and cleaned.

When Should NOGALL Be Applied?

NOGALL can only be used for protective purposes. It should be applied before the disease enters the plant body, before planting or sowing. It has no curative effect after the disease has entered the plant body.

How Long Does the Effect of NOGALL Last?

After application, beneficial bacteria begin to colonize the root zone within half an hour. A bacterial count of 1-10 million is reached in every 1 gram of fresh roots. The bacterial count drops to levels of 10,000-100,000 after 15-20 weeks.

Usage Method and Dose

A solution is prepared by mixing the 250-gram package with 12 L of water, the 100-gram package with 4.8 L of water.

  1. NOGALL should be applied to the bare root.
  2. Application should be carried out as much as the amount of need.
  3. The water to be used must not contain any chemical (including Chlorine) residues. If possible, it should be cold, drinking water quality.
  4. It is desirable that the container in which the mixture will be prepared is clean, not previously used for another mixture.
  5. NOGALL The entire 250-gram package is drained into 2 L of water, after thoroughly mixed, completed to 12 L, mixed. For a homogeneous application, the mixture should be mixed at regular intervals.
  6. Applications of seedlings and crouches: Cut, dented parts in the root area of the sapling should be pruned (shaving), cleaned, the soil on it should be thoroughly washed.
  7. After these procedures, the application of seedlings and crouches is carried out in the same way.
  8. Saplings/crouches; since the root and root throats (all parts that will remain in the soil) come into contact with the solution, it should be ensured that it gets wet.
  9. Saplings/crouches should be left in the mixture for 2 minutes and then planted immediately.
  10. Seed applications: Seeds are immersed in the prepared bacterial solution, left for 2 minutes, immediately sown.

Frequency of Use: Used only once, before planting or planting.

Usage Area

  1. Stone-core fruits (peaches, cherries, cherries)
  2. Hard-shelled fruits (walnuts, almonds)
  3. Soft core (apple, pear)

Mixability

It can not be confused with any bactericides.

Fungicides that do not mind its use:

Benomyl, Iprodione, Metalaxyl, Mthyl thiophanate, Propamocarb, Triadimefon

With Nogall, it should never be used:

Captan, Chlorinated water, Dazomet, Dichlofluanid, Dodine (Melprex), Guazatine (Panoctine), TMTD, Truban, Zineb (Curit), Streptomy gin (Agristrep), Mancozeb (Dithane)

Storage Conditions

Store in cool, dry places, protect from high heat and direct sunlight (4⁰C-40⁰C). It should be used for 6 months in room conditions and +4 ⁰C for 1 year from the date of manufacture.

Important Notes

  1. NOGALL licensed plants: PEACH AND RENT
  2. When buying seedlings NOGALL used ones should be preferred.
  3. Agrobacterium vitis causes root cancer in the ligaments.
  4. In the vineyards NOGALL NOT RECOMMENDED.
  5. NOGALL the package is disposable, indivisible and cannot be stored for later use.
  6. NOGALL the solution can be kept in a cool, sun-free environment for 24 hours.
  7. In tube saplings, the application can be by pouring to the bottom according to the number of seedlings.
